The mission of The Los Angeles Film School is to inspire students with an inventive method of education that concentrates on preparation for career opportunities in the entertainment industry. The school does this with a curriculum that integrates technical knowledge with artistic exploration and creativity, taught by a staff of passionate professionals. The school's education is delivered through reflective teaching methods and hands-on learning in the heart of Hollywood, the world's entertainment capital. Its programs are designed to immerse aspiring talent in industry practices and current technologies, enabling students to discover their individual voices through collaboration and realize their career goals in the entertainment industry.

What Students Will Learn

The Los Angeles Film School offers career-focused, accredited Bachelor and Associate of Science Degrees both on campus and online. Bachelor of Science degree programs online include: Digital Filmmaking, Animation, Entertainment Business, Graphic Design, Audio Production, Writing for Film & Television, and Media Communications. Students learn industry-current techniques from professionals whose credentials include GRAMMY® awards, Oscar awards and working on films such as The Kids Are Alright, The Fighter, The Lion King and Ice Age, as well as games like Medal of Honor and Age of Empires. Students can also enjoy working with the industry-standard technology, including a fully-digital High Definition Dolby Surround, RealD 3D Theatre.

Admissions & Financial Aid

The Student Success Team in the Admissions Department will guide students through the enrollment process at The Los Angeles Film School. They are the main point of contact to answer any questions that prospective students may have. They are also there to assist with the application process including getting students in touch with a financial aid adviser to find the perfect financial aid package.

Military Services

As a VA-approved institution of higher learning, The Los Angeles Film School has a substantial community of military-affiliated students. The school's Military Services Department is committed to helping qualifying students obtain their Military Education Benefits. The Los Angeles Film School also has a dedicated Military Transition Team available to help veteran students with their transition back to civilian life. We understand how important career re-training is to our military students. We facilitate invaluable veteran-specific events to help with just this. Veterans, reservists, or dependents may be eligible for educational benefits through a variety of programs to assist with earning degrees.

International Services

In addition to assisting with admissions, enrollment and securing a visa, our International Student Center provides tutoring, housing information and career assistance. If you're studying online, you'll have access to our online media center, tech support and Career Development team.

Career Development

Career development is a lifelong process—starting with your first day of class. The keys to unlocking and managing a successful career in the entertainment industry are research, networking, preparation, professionalism and the ability to stay current with industry practices and trends. The Career Development Department works in conjunction with students' education curricula to prepare them with interpersonal and professional skills, support their vocational goals and help to bridge the gap between academia and the workplace.

Alumni

The Los Angeles Film School alumni are truly making their marks in the entertainment industry. Recording alumnus Ari Levine has been nominated for a total of 9 GRAMMYs, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Producer of the Year. Film alumna Hannah Lux Davis directed the record-breaking thank u, next music video for Ariana Grande as well as 7 Rings and Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored. Film alumni Brian Taylor and Kyle Newachek have built impressive entertainment careers, which include credits for movies like Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Crank and Crank 2, and TV shows Workaholics and Community. Several Animation alumni are experiencing success with their respective careers for creating video games like Jack Powers: Bane of the Shadow King, available for play on Kongregate.com, and for working on Sci-Fi movies like Return of the Killer Shrews. Housing

The Los Angeles Film School has a full-time, dedicated staff member available to facilitate local and long-distance transitions for enrolled and active students. The housing coordinator assists students in finding accommodations that fit a wide range of budgetary and lifestyle preferences, in addition to student roommate selection.

School Events

Students at The Los Angeles Film School enjoy an abundance of interactive events throughout each year. The 340-seat, RealD 3D Theatre attracts filmmakers from all over to screen their films on our campus. The school hosts these Hollywood screenings followed by panel discussions with directors, screenwriters, producers, actors and more! In addition to screenings, live concerts and film festivals, students have exclusive access to entertainment professionals and networking events on and off campus.

The Los Angeles Film School is a private educational institution granted approval to operate by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education under the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009.

The Los Angeles Film School is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). The ACCSC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education a recognized accrediting agency.

The Los Angeles Film School is approved for Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy and U.S. Government tuition assistance.
